iPhone 18 Pro - Filmmaker Reaction
It's that time of year again when Apple releases its latest, greatest, "best ever" iPhones and this year's event was very interesting - though not really for the iPhone 18 Pro - but for the brand new foldable iPhone Duo.
As a matter of fact, I was actually underwhelmed with the new 18 Pro. The Duo looks great though.
The iPhone 18 Pro is a very solid device with all the filmmaking bells and whistles you'd expect (and now even with a variable aperture camera), but overall it seems to really just be an incremental update to the 17 Pro.
But maybe worst of all - it was completely outshined by the Duo's release.
I wonder now if Apple should've had a solo event just for the Duo as I was left feeling like the 18 Pro was almost an afterthought during the event (I know it's not, but that's how it felt to me).

Of course don't get me wrong, the iPhone 18 Pro looks to be a very good phone and especially for filmmaking. But if you're upgrading from the 17 Pro it doesn't seem like it's worth it. If you're new to iPhones or are upgrading an older model like a 15 Pro or before, then I do think it would be excellent.
