One of the best examples I've seen of using a smartphone to make a film is one called "No Hard Feelings". This is a short film that was produced back in 2019 and was part of the FiLMiC Pro short film contest.
I've covered this project back in 2020 on both my YouTube channel and podcast where I interviewed the DP David Cleeve. Unfortunately though the film wasn't released and so I could only show clips from the trailer and behind-the-scenes... That is until now.
Cut to 2021 and the filmmakers behind "No Hard Feelings" contacted me about releasing the film on my channel - and I immediately said, sure!
The reason it took almost two years to finally release the project was largely due to the pandemic. They were entered in other film festivals and so were obligated not to "premiere" it online anywhere until that run was finished, which ended up being extended due to cancellations, lockdowns, etc.
But now it's officially available for all to see. And in addition to releasing the film I also did a new interview with one of the stars and co-directors of the film. His name is Paul Henri and is an Australian based actor & filmmaker. So after you watch the movie definitely check out his interview and if you missed the original interview with DP David Cleeve, then check it out too (watch/listen below).

Note too if you prefer to listen to the audio only version of the podcast interviews then here are links for that (and please subscribe to the podcast)...

Hope you enjoy the short film and the various BTS conversations, etc. And by the way, not only do I think this is a great example of what you can do with a phone - it's also just a great example of what you can do with ANY CAMERA as it's just an all around well done short film.
Happy filmmaking!
